I participated in the iconic #DubaiRun as part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge 30x30 this morning. It is said that more than 193,000 people showed up to this run. 🏃♀️🏃🏃🏽♂️🏃🏽♂️🏃🏽♂️🏃🏽♂️🏃🏽♂️🏃🏽♂️🏃🏽♂️🏃🏽♂️
Apart from the thrill of running by the beautiful Museum of the Future and on the grounds of Dubai’s main artery, the picturesque Sheikh Zayed Road, I was truly humbled by the overarching sense of ‘togetherness’ this run served. 👏
People from all walks of life showed up. There was the young and the old, the mothers and the fathers, the teens and the tweens, as well as toddlers. People of determination cheered everyone on and walked enthusiastically together in teams, taking dancing breaks to the tunes that played for the crowds. ✅
This morning to me was all about inclusion and diversity. Dubai is a city that has opened its doors to the world. As long as you have the intension to make it, then you can make it in this city. The run was a resemblance to the welcoming spirit of this country. 🌎🌍🌏
When you run alongside thousands and thousands of people, you remember how big the world is and how little you are. You also remember that each individual in this life is carrying bundles of memories, dreams and hopes, just like you. The only way to live this life is to acknowledge that you are part of a grander whole and this connectedness is beautiful. 🌱🙇🏻♀️
Thank you Dubai and HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum for this thoughtful event.
